The previous Constitution indicated that the Executives would take office effective immediately following their election; the new Constitution says the incoming Executives will take office no later than 2 weeks before the end of the school year unless otherwise indicated in the Joint Bylaws. The proposal to change the Joint Bylaws would allow for a 2-week transition period and nothing more. Also, the amendment has not been passed. On Tuesday night, the bill was submitted for previous notice at the UG Senate meeting, which means it will be voted on next Tuesday and if approved will take effect.
Hopefully, there will be a clarifying note published in Friday's paper.
