No more CoHo?!?! :'(

Why isn't there an article about the CoHo? It closed down? How can the paper have a picture of the CoHo on here without any kind of story about its closing? Is this what we get to look forward to from the Daily this year?

The university closed the CoHo without even informing (let alone consulting) the students. How can this be allowed? Hershey and Mondaire-- why are you silent about this?

Don't let the University's smiley-face rhetoric fool you — this Old Union project is a stupid, sweaty mess. John Arrillaga is a horrible beast of man who wants his fingers in every pie he smells, even those that really don't belong to him. He will look down with his Sauron Eye on everything that students do, and if he disapproves of some facet of a student group that exists in "his" space, adios. There is no respect for the integrity of student life when John Arrillaga is involved; he has the final say on everything, and, as we've seen with the ridiculous lack of showers and air conditioning in the Arrillaga Family Rec Center, he is often capricious and deleterious in his decisions. I encourage students to look closely at the actual construction of the Old Union and Clubhouse and Nitery buildings, because it bears the classic mark of Arrillaga: it looks pretty good, but is ultimately of inferior quality.
I challenge Stanford University to have the courage to refuse Arrillaga's million-strings-attached money. He is a bully and a boor, and Stanford should not be beholden to his demands simply because he throws millions of dollars its way.

i am sad they closed the coho. and sadder that students have no information about what is going on until it's already happened, and that then the info is conveyed in a "wow, great news!" way that is transparent to everyone. if it's such a good thing, why didn't you talk to us about it beforehand?

Sergio should keep his bickering to himself. The new Old Union is amazing, and the Axe and Palm is great.
