A very thoughtful and well-written editorial. As an alum and former employee of 7 years, I would be love to have my old @stanford address that I identified with for 14 years - @stanfordalumni.org (an improvement from the even more confusing @alumni.stanford.org) is clumsy, confusing, and I stopped using it years ago in favor of something easier to remember like Yahoo.com. Pay for it? In a heartbeat!

End the awful experience that is stanfordalumni.org; let alums keep their stanford.edu address. Stanfordalumni.org is unreliable and lets through a ton of spam. It is run by a third-party company that could go out of business at any time.
Let Stanford ITSS run alumni mail; end this silly bickering.

Definitely bring back stanford.edu account! It would be great to have it back.

Definitely bring back @stanford.edu accounts for alums. I would definitely pay for the email address! I don't like or use the alumni email address...
