The portrayal of the Stanford Indian as a big-nose "cartoon character" is very much in bad taste. How would another nationality react if it was similarly portrayed with an oversized nose, for example, Arabs, Italians, Jews etc.? Indians are Americans (the first Americans incidentally) and as such, they deserve to be honored, protected and not disrespected.

So,we should draw the Indian "cartoon character" with perfect facial structure? I have a big nose, and many Indian folks have big noses....Is that a big deal???

I hope the person who left a comment previously feels ashamed after doing so. If you are 1/4 Cherokee Indian, it should be even more important to you than to those who aren't. I am Asian, and even I know that this is highly degrading to the Native American culture. If this does not bother you, then it obviously shows that you support other caricatures degrading other cultures. We all have a responsibility to respect a culture, whether it is our own or our neighbors'.
