I think a very underestimated rendition was created by the band Boston. It can be found on their greatest hits album. I thought the Hendrix rendition was terrible, completely not musical, and lacked respect etc for the song. The Boston rendition, while giving the song the same rock type feel, is actually musical (aka its not just a bunch of random noise). Check it out. It's my favorite one you might like it.
