Katie was one of the two daughters of my heart. The other is her sunshine and light younger sister, Erica. 23 of the last 26 years of my life have been gladly dedicated to helping the Swanson family through all the mundane times, sweet times, difficult times and abysmal times in their lives. I can't imagine there are too many more families that have been so devastated, so undeserving of the tragedy that has been their lives for the past 6+ years and have been left with such horrible scars on their hearts. Five close family members dying in the past 6.5 years has left two unimaginably, incredible women to bear the burden few of us in the US have ever had to bear (war included). How they survive from day to day is a lesson to all of us. To have soooo much and to lose a thousand times that bounty is a life injustice. Think of them, cry for them and appreciate Judy's and Erica's strength of spirit, please. With all my love and devotion. ml
