liked the article it gave great infermation for my debate project.

I doubt there could be a study comparing new teachers from Education curriculums with TFA teachers fairly. TFA sends theirs into the worst possible environments with already disadvantaged students. The improvement potential is huge, but the obstacles are often insurmountable. Certification allows a much more congenial choice of schools and student populations.

this is an article from 2005....where is the followup study?

i like the article but im not sure i agree with it 100%. Primarily, teachers who are certified to teach do not always do a great job. there are teachers who can teach certain subjects who are NOT certified and has shown majot improvement in testing for students. It goes vice versa, it will be great if the teachers who are certified has the drive and ambition to teach because not all of them do.
