Flip flops are a good choice for the warm spring days, or in the summer. Because they're comfortable, and inexpensive, these are reasons to their growing popularity.
While they're good for informal wear, they're not a good choice for walking long distances. I've made that mistake before, and ended up with blisters. That was the extent of it; there was no foot pain involved, even though people told me that's what would happen.
So, there are ups and downs to flip flops, just like everything else. I'd say people will never stop wearing flip flops, even through warnings that may come their way.

I am wearing a pair from a year or so ago and am on this website looking for another pair. They do exist. I have Plantar Fascitis also. You can get away with wearing these.
There is no name brand on them. The soles however, have hearts and stars embossed on them. Who could possible make these?

Flip flops have been around forever.. Starting back as just slips over your feet in africa to chinese slippers they are basic , BASIC padding from the ground.
The only issue with flipflops that is see is those <a href="http://www.shopflipflops.com/High_Metalic_Havaianas-Havaianas_High_Heel_Metalic_Beige_Flip_Flops.html"><b><b>High Heel flip flops</b>. Like WOW, I guess you culd get through a small river with these babies....

My swarovski components flip flops made deep wounds in my feet leading to scars! A very painful experience. The shoes should have come with a warning! When I went back to the store to complain, the clerk explained that I should use water on the toe piece as there is no stretch to the leather. Both clerks than said they had the same problem!! Hmmm it would have been nice to explain this when purchasing. Buyer be ware!
