I happen to know that memory suppression is possible. I myself have wide-open gaps in my memory up until about the age of 10. I have a few snapshot images that do invoke specific feelings. But I don't know why. I would be very interested in recovering these memories if it were possible. Of course, I too worry about false memories. But maybe a place to start would be with the memories I am sure of. If I could remember more details about those ones, then maybe I could fill in some blanks in the partial memories. Its a tricky subject. If you are ever doing a study using people with real repressed memories, please don't hesitate to ask me.
