I am a Marilyn Manson fan, so I'll try to leave bias out. I truly believe that "The Golden Age of the Grotesque" was perfectly suited for his vaudeville overtones. He makes incredible reference to the past and adopts it seemlessly to the present. I think it's important for an artist to step back from themselves and pay homage to what has laid the foundation to modern entertainment. I feel he takes a break from being shock rocker and integrates musician and historian.
