The Stanford Daily's current location in Storke Publications Building has served the newspaper well. However, after four decades of wear and tear, the office faces a number of challenges. With falling ceiling tiles, out-of-date electrical work and inadequate space for staff operations, among other issues, Storke is no longer able to meet the needs of The Stanford Daily.
In response to these concerns, The Stanford Daily created a task force in 2000 to spearhead an effort to construct a new building on campus that would meet the newspaper's needs in the 21st century. Daily alumnus Lorry Lokey '46 stepped forward with a donation of $2 million to help fund the intitiative. Last year, Stanford offered land for the construction of the building near Old Union, and in February of this year, the University Board of Trustees gave the project Site and Concept approval. We now need to your support to make this dream come true for Stanford Daily staffers.
