This report covers a selection of crimes from April 21 to April 27 as recorded in the Stanford Police Department Public Bulletin.
Monday, April 21
- At Terman Engineering Center, a suspicious circulation of email occurred. The reporting party received a non-threatening, but nonetheless disturbing, email at 7:03 p.m.
- Between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., an unknown suspect or suspects stole the victim’s wallet from a lecture hall at Building 420.
- A deer was euthanized after being hit by a vehicle between noon and 5:13 p.m. at Stanford Avenue.
Tuesday, April 22
- Parking Structure 5 witnessed two crimes. Between 8:30 a.m. and 5:40 p.m., unknown suspects broke the driver’s side front window, unlocked the door and stole the victim’s car radio.
- At 7:30 p.m., an unknown suspect or suspects entered the victim’s locked vehicle by prying the driver’s side front window. The suspect or suspects stole the stereo and air conditioning unit from the console.
Wednesday, April 23
- At 1:16 a.m., Stanford Deputies assisted Palo Alto Police Department units with the identification and apprehension of a felony hit and run suspect.
Thursday, April 24
- Dormitory burglary occurred between 12:01 a.m. and 1 a.m. when the victim’s laptop was stolen from his unlocked room at Kappa Alpha.
- ABM custodians located and recovered property from Room 115 of Roble Gym. There was no indication of ownership. The property was brought to Stanford Department of Public Safety and turned over for destruction.
Friday, April 25
- Petty theft occurred at Tressider between 11:10 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. when items from the victim’s purse were stolen by unknown suspect or suspects.
- Between 7 a.m. and 3:21 p.m., assault took place at 283 Campus West. The victim was struck on the head by the suspect. No injury was sustained.
- At 11:45 a.m. outside the Press Building, the reporting party observed a case of vehicle tempering. The suspect sat in the driver’s seat attempting to operate a golf cart that did not belong to him.
- Misappropriation of property occurred at 1:53 p.m. outside Dinkelspiel Auditorium. The suspect found the victim’s bike, appropriating it for his personal use.
Saturday, April 26
- Between 6:15 p.m. and 7 p.m., the victim’s wallet was stolen at the counter of the Tree House.
- At 8:05 p.m., the reporting party received a suspicious email in Building 420.
- An unknown suspect broke a large window at the Kappa Alpha House at 6:45 p.m.
Sunday, April 27
- In Parking Structure 2 between 4 p.m. and 7:05 p.m., the victim and companion returned to their vehicle to find the doors unlocked. An iPod and a Macbook laptop computer were missing. Latent prints were found on the rear hatch.
