Six Stanford men’s basketball players, including starters Anthony Goods and Mitch Johnson, contracted food poisoning Thursday evening and sat out Friday’s afternoon practice as a precaution.

Most felt better as of Friday night, according to a source on the team, and all are expected to be ready for Saturday’s 12:30 p.m. tip against Arizona.

The six: Washington, a redshirt junior forward, Johnson, a sophomore guard, injured starting sophomore guard Anthony Goods, junior center Peter Prowitt, junior forward Taj Finger and senior guard Chris Bobel.

The culprit: chicken in Thursday evening’s pre-game meal, according to the San Jose Mercury News. The paper also reported the players received intravenous fluids today as a precaution.

“I don’t usually want to eat to heavy, so I usually just eat salads,” said Carlton Weatherby of his pregame meals. “So I think that’s what might have been what saved me from going down.”
