Along with a win, Stanford football has scored another season first with freshman wide receiver Richard Sherman earning U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Player of the Week honors.
Awarded for the offensive side, Sherman caught a career-high-matching six passes toward a career-high 177 yards last Saturday against Washington. Sherman also pulled off a 74-yard touchdown reception in the Cardinal’s longest play of the season, leading to its 20-3 win over the Huskies.
On the defensive side, Arizona’s Antoine Cason was the Pac-10 Player of the Week for the second-straight time, while Arizona State’s Jesse Ainsworth was the winner among special teams.
