Two roundabouts are being installed around White Plaza this summer by the University’s Department of Planning in order to help divert the constant flow of traffic. One will be built at the southern end of Lasuen Mall in front of the clocktower and the other will be at the northern entrance to White Plaza.

Katherine Roubos '07 stumbled into a storm of controversy this week more befitting a Hollywood movie than a first-time journalism internship: religious leaders and hundreds of protesters rallied Tuesday, calling for her deportation because of her controversial articles on gay rights.
Renowned lit prof. passes away

Acclaimed Americanist and English Prof. Jay Fliegelman Ph.D. ‘77 passed away on Aug. 14 after succumbing to liver disease and cancer. He was 58.
Stanford takes fourth in national rankings

Stanford remained fourth in US News & World Report's 2008 college rankings, part of the annual “America’s Best Colleges” issue, trailing only perennial list-toppers Princeton, Harvard and Yale.
