SPORTS| After a strong performance last weekend at the Pacific Coast Classic, the No. 5 men’s gymnastics team (8-1) looks to keep rolling when it faces Michigan tonight at 7 p.m. in Burnham Pavilion. The Wolverines (11-3) are currently the top-ranked team in the nation, but they looked shaky in what some might consider a surprising upset last weekend.

SPORTS| After an exhausting weekend in the desert that resulted in victories against Arizona and Arizona State, the members of the Cardinal women’s tennis team has another challenging lineup of teams to face today and Saturday when it faces No. 18 Pepperdine and No. 7 Cal, respectively. Today’s match begins at 1:30 p.m. while Saturday’s match against Cal begins at 2 p.m.

Track and Field ready for the great outdoors

SPORTS| After a successful indoor season, Stanford track and field will be kicking off its outdoor season tomorrow with the Stanford Quad Meet. The Cardinal will be competing against Fresno State, the University of San Francisco and UC-Davis. The competition will consist of springs/hurdles, jumps, throws, multi-events and distances.

SPORTS| For seniors Brooke Smith and Kristen Newlin, four seasons with Stanford women’s basketball came down to the final seconds against Southern California this past Sunday. With the Cardinal down 51-50 against the Women of Troy, and 2:28 to go, it was time for the two centers to step up yet again for the Cardinal.
